Apple Cottage, with its honeyed sandstone walls, is an original 17th-century farmhouse located in an idyllic position on the hillside overlooking the beautiful sea cove at Robin Hood's Bay, an ancient seaside hamlet nestled precariously between fossil-laden cliffs and steeped in tales of smuggling and contraband.
The cottage has been refurbished to a luxurious standard, and has a Shaker-style kitchen, granite worktops, oak floors, cosy log burning stove, and private en suite bath or shower rooms.
It is one of two luxurious coastal cottages (the other being Pebble Cottage), each of which has a garden with magnificent views to the sea, and access to the communal children's play area, which allows parents much needed time off!
Both Apple Cottage and Pebble Cottage have their own unique character, and both offer modern facilities with sumptuous furnishings and stylish interiors.
Close to beaches, shops, pubs, restaurants, cafés and places of interest, this is the ideal location for couples or for a great family holiday. Apple Cottage and Pebble Cottage are together and would be ideal for two families requiring their own space but wishing to share a holiday.
One great attraction for the more energetic type is the Scarborough to Whitby coastal path (20 miles) - a disused railway track which has been designated for walkers and cyclists - which is accessible straight from the cottage.
The vibrant and historic city of York is only a one-hour drive, and here you can shop in the medieval streets, visit the famous Minster Cathedral, and the fascinating and highly enjoyable Yorvik Viking Centre.
